Residents are gobbling up new condominiums in Scottsdale, Tempe and downtown Phoenix. But one new condo project won't see any new residents at all.

It's a condominium for cars, and it's giving Lamborghini lovers and other car collectors a new option to store -- and display -- their prized possessions. The 15 climate-controlled units, ranging in size from 2, to 5, square feet, will open to an interior patio with a fountain and lush landscaping.

Inside, each unit will include an entertainment area with a high-speed Internet connection, refrigerator, wine bar and full bathroom.

We're selling a lifestyle," said Frank Beck, the project's developer and owner of Beck's Independent Porsche, a Phoenix company that provides service and restoration for the German sports cars. The project also will include a 14,square-foot facility for Beck's shop, which currently operates in a 6,square-foot space. Developers foresee the condos serving as an entertainment escape for luxury car enthusiasts.

A typical solution to this dilemma has been simply to build a larger garage. Yet in many urban areas, as well as in upscale developments, there is often not enough space to do so, or zoning laws may prohibit it. Several businessmen have begun to offer a new solution: upscale car condominiums.

The spaces are fully customizable, so that the owners can add amenities like private restrooms, wet bars, entertainment centers, lofts overlooking their collection or small offices with Wi-Fi networks. All units will have a full bath of granite and travertine plus an entertainment center with refrigerators, ice maker, wine cooler and the list goes on.

A portion of the units will have Mezzanines which include another bathroom and refrigerator, ice maker and microwave. A brick plate tile floor will be in the main car area available in an assortment of sizes, colors and patterns. Elegant lighting fixtures and display lights for your art work and cars. The gated lush courtyard will offer a blend of cobblestone, pavers, lighting with flowers surrounding the center fountain creating a resort style destination.
